Kyiv: April 12, 2007. The PACE competition of the project's regional informational resource centers (RIRC) closed. RIRC are established for improvement of the capability and mobilization of the covol society and mass media in conducting independent monitoring of anti-corruption reforms.

Promoting Active Citizen Engagement (ACTION) in Combating Corruption in Ukraine Projectannounces grant competitionfor the civic society organizations aimed at government monitoring, legal education and protection, and active citizen engagement in such spheres as strengthening judiciary reform, enforcement of ethical and administrative standards, streamlining and enforcing regulations.
The Promoting Active Citizen Engagement in Combating Corruption in Ukraine (ACTION) project announces contest for Civic Society Organizations (CSOs) on establishing a network of Regional Information and Resource Centers (RIRC) and contest for trainers.
Regional presentations of the Project will be held on February 16, 2007 in 14 regions of Ukraine. Representatives from civic society organizations and regional mass media are invited to familiarize themselves with the work of the Project. The purpose of presentations is to attract as many CSO and mass-media representatives as possible.
National Survey on the State of Corruption in Ukraine
The ACTION Project initiated a national survey on the state of corruption in Ukraine. The survey differs from similar surveys held earlier by its range- the sample reaches 11,000 respondents (standard sample size is 2,000 persons). This approach will allow analysis of the perception of the population of the state of corruption on the national and regional levels.
