National report on the monitoring results of the One Stop Shop System
The Coalition of civic society organizations on monitoring of the one stop shop system united six NGOs from different parts of Ukraine and worked between September 2008 – March 2009.

OnMarch12, 2009 ACTION Project and the Construction-Focused Public Anti-Corruption Advocacy Network will hold a press-conference entitled “Corruption in city planning: presenting the results of the civic monitoring” at the premises of the IA Ukrinform.
Who benefits from chaos in city planning regulations? Why aren’t city councils in a hurry to endorse regulations, which would make the adoption of city planning documentation transparent and simple? What do local MPs and public officials hide from the public refusing to answer informational requests?
Round table “Results of the Civic Monitoring of the One Stop Shop System”
On March 6, 2009 ACTION Project and Coalition of civic society organizations onthe monitoring of the one stop shop (OSS) system will hold a round table dedicated to the presentation and discussion of the results of the monitoring.
New Generation Encourages Young People to Counter Corruption
Young people are far too tolerant of corruption. According to the latest survey on the state of corruption in higher education sector, which ACTION initiated in 2008, 22% of secondary school graduates consider corruption acceptable and bribery a quick gateway to solving problems. Thus, with ACTION’s support, the youth NGO New Generation resolved to focus its efforts on mobilizing young people to counter corruption.
Slobidskiy Kozatskiy Polk Tought Authorities to Give Information
One of the articles of the Law of Ukraine on information obliges representatives of the state, as well as local and regional authorities to inform citizens about their activities and decisions that affect the public. During regular monitoring of the rayon mass media, the «Slobidskiy Kozatskiy Polk» NGO - supported by ACTION -, discovered that the official newspaper of Svatove City Council - «The Voice of Community» - publishes two to three items and “other” on the session’s agenda. As it turns out, “other” includes rather important issues, which usually involve economic activity in the city and affect large numbers of its inhabitants.
