On April 14, 2008 “Anticorruption Informational Service” was presented at the premises of Ukrinform press-center.  Its purpose is to provide toll-free telephone consultations to the population of Ukraine concerning incidents of corruption. The service is specializing on corruption in courts, higher educational institutions and system of permits.  The hotline will be administrated by the NGO “Anticorruption Committee” with the support of the ACTION Project.

Juhani Grossmann, ACTION Project Chief of Party noted that the purpose behind the financing of 8 800 500 3 100 hotline is not to substitute state mechanisms of reaction on incidents of corruption.  The hotline is meant to gather all existing effective methods of counteraction to corruption—governmental, non-governmental and international in one place. It is important that this hotline should be easily reached and cost-free for any person calling from stationary phones in Ukraine or has access to Internet.
